Straight or curved?
A straight staircase uses the Elan SRE-3050 or Elite SRE-2010. Any turn, landing or spiral needs a custom curved rail like the Elite CRE-2110.
Indoors or outdoors?
Porch, deck and patio stairways need an outdoor model, the SRE-2010E or CRE-2110E, built from marine-grade parts and rated 0°F to 125°F.
Rider weight
The Elan carries 300 lb. Every Elite stairlift carries 400 lb, and the Bruno wheelchair lift carries 750 lb.
Doorway at the bottom?
A folding rail flips up out of the way so a doorway or hallway at the foot of the stairs stays clear.
Turning at the top
A 90° easy-turn seat, or an optional power swivel, lets you step off safely onto the landing instead of beside the stairs.
Stairlift or wheelchair lift?

Can a stairlift go around turns and landings?
Yes. The Bruno Elite CRE-2110 curved indoor stairlift and CRE-2110E curved outdoor stairlift ride on a custom rail made for your staircase, through turns, landings and spirals.
Can a stairlift be installed outdoors?
Yes. Bruno's outdoor Elite stairlifts use marine-grade components and weather-resistant materials, and are rated from 0°F to 125°F, which suits San Diego coastal homes as well as East County and North County inland heat.
Will a stairlift work if the power goes out?
Bruno stairlifts run on batteries that are kept charged from a household outlet, so they keep working through a power outage.
What weight capacity do Bruno stairlifts support?
The Elan is rated for 300 lb. All Elite stairlifts, straight and curved, indoor and outdoor, are rated for 400 lb. The Bruno wheelchair platform lift is rated for 750 lb.
When do I need a wheelchair lift instead of a stairlift?
If you can't transfer to a seat, or need to bring a wheelchair, power chair or scooter up the steps with you, a vertical platform wheelchair lift such as the Bruno VPL-3100 or VPL-3200 carries you and the chair together.
